An original background concept from the Warner Bros. animated series, "Tiny Toon Adventures" (1990-1994). Featuring a fantastic rendering of the sun setting in the horizon over the surface of Mars, the concept was created at the studio by legendary animator and artist, Maurice Noble, and was used during the animation process. The painting was used for the "Duck Dodgers Jr." segment of the episode titled "Return of the Acme Acres Zone," a parody of the "Twilight Zone," which aired on February 4, 1991. The piece is hand-signed by the artist to the lower right of the image. Noble is a prolific animator with an extremely impressive filmography, who started working at the Disney Studios in 1934 and later MGM, Warner Bros., and Dr.Seuss. Measuring 10.5"x12.5" overall, with the image itself measuring 8.75"x12", the artwork is in very good condition with minor discoloration, staining, and edge wear due to age and handling.
